HERITAGE
Heritage is a queer coming-of-age dramedy that follows Rumiñahui, “Rumi, for the gringos,” a bisexual Ecuadorian-American teen recently kicked out by his family. As he tries to navigate his future, Rumi finds unexpected strength through mystical encounters with his Indigenous Andean ancestors, blending real-world stakes with magical realism. Inspired by Sebastián’s own coming-out journey, the film explores queerness, cultural identity, and fractured family ties through a grounded but emotional lens. Think Reservation Dogs meets Love, Victor. Based on true events.
